On the Politics of Translation: A Virtual Panel

Join us for a conversation on the challenges of holding meaning and intention in different languages. How does the process of thoughtful translation open the text up—not only to new audiences but to new meanings as well? Working in Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, and Tamil, these award-winning translators will discuss the challenges they face in trying to capture both sentiment and substance, sometimes in the choice of a single word.
