Nasrin Sheykhi

About

The globally recognized and acclaimed artist Nasrin Sheykhi, painter and illustrator. Nasrin’s works do not fall into just one category. Painting, cartoon, illustration; each work beckons the viewer to come closer to catch the references to politics, architecture, music, cinema, literature, psychology… the pieces are alive with movement and hidden meanings. Nasrin uses different materials, tools, and a singular understanding of artistic teachings to create each unique artwork. These elements come together in an artistic composition to make a culturally relevant collage laden with symbolism. Her determination and daring spirit have led Nasrin to publish two books, and she has been awarded over 40 international honors. She has created a new style of pop art depicting famous people including politicians, rock stars and other cultural icons. After her immigration to the United States, via an “extraordinary ability or Einstein visa,” Nasrin was featured in and on an impressive list of media platforms including a full page article in the New York Times in 2018.
