Mónica-Ramón Ríos

About

Mónica-Ramón Ríos is a bilingual writer and PhD in literature from Chile. Recent books include Látigo versus luma (2022), Autos que se queman (2022, translated as Cars on Fire, 2020), and Alias el Rucio (2015, forthcoming in translation, 2026). Recent awards include the 2025 Brooklyn Arts Council grant, the 2024 NYSCA Artist Award, and the 2021 Juegos Literarios Gabriela Mistral. Their work has appeared in, among others, Granta, La Tempestad, Remezcla, and Hyperallergic. Their creative and academic practice explores migration, gender, and collective resistance across literature, film, and media. They co-founded Sangría Editora, co-host The Letter podcast, and teach at Pratt Institute.
